With over 7500 kms of coastline there are plenty of really good places to surf in India. There are nine coastal states in India which are Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal. The four Indian coastal Union Territories are Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The renowned good places to surf in India are mainly located in Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as well as the territories of Pondicherry, Lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. While these are the most common areas to find good places to surf in India, there are definitely new locations always being found.
Surfing is still so young and the Indian Coastline still having huge areas of relatively little known and unchartered surfing territory, that more and more good places to surf in India will continue to be found and added to the list.
We are planning Surfing Road Trips which are going to purely for searching missions, trying to find more places and increase more and more good places to surf in India. These Road Trips will be opened up for people to come and explore with us!
For sure there are still many hidden gems waiting to be found along the Coast.
